Chapel attendants were serenaded by a trio of pianists in November 2018—on a single piano!

Chapel talent

We regularly have students (and alumni!) perform in chapel during the week. It's a great way for students to share their talent with the community and practise performing in front of an audience.

Earlier this year our chapel-goers were treated to a joyful performance of Joe Hisaishi's "Summer" by Mulan on the piano. In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Mulan, Jieni, Ashley, Laura, and Angel performed "Moonlight in the City". On Take Me Outside Day, our Visual Arts Teacher, Mr. Brandon, performed "Rough Hands" by Alexisonfire.

We're looking forward to welcoming Mathieu Cassar, BCS'14, who will be performing a piano piece for us on November 27 and Ashley, who will be playing "La Valse d'Amélie" by Yann Tiersen this week.

Haunted Tunnel Tour

Moulton Hill was feeling extra spoOoky this Halloween! Throughout the week leading up to the big day, the regular school bell was replaced with a cackling witch, a screeching cat, and a ghoulish grumble. Students were encouraged to dress up in costume and even our Head of School joined in on the fun, giving our students quite the fright during Friday's chapel assembly.

As a special treat, our prefects set up a scary surprise for our students: haunted tunnel tours!
For many of our students, this was the first time they've been to our underground passages—an experience they're not likely to forget anytime soon!

The prefects didn't want the rest of our community to feel left out, so with the help of our Associate Head of School for Student Life, Mr. François Tessier, they've prepared a frightening film for you to enjoy.

Alumni Spotlight

Intellijoint Surgical Inc. was recently featured in The Globe and Mail's second-annual ranking of Canada's top growing companies.

The company is the brainchild of Armen Bakirtzian, BCS'03, who came up with the idea while working on a university design project in his final year at the University of Waterloo. He was inspired to develop a product to make hip replacement surgeries more accurate after discussions with his orthopaedic surgeon father.

The company, which operates out of Kitchener, ON, develops and sells surgical navigation solutions for joint replacements with the mission to "improve patients' lives by providing every surgeon with effective, easy-to-use technology."

Intellijoint Surgical Inc. placed 37th on the Globe and Mail's list of 400 companies this October for its three-year growth of 1,397%.

Congratulations to Armen and the whole Intellijoint Surgical Inc. team on this achievement!

Meet our mentors

In October's edition of Mentor Monday, we sat down with Josh Bray, BCS'15, (Assistant Houseparent of McNaughton, Senior Boys' Rugby Coach, and Strength & Conditioning Coach) to learn more about his love of all things fitness and BCS. We also got some insight on what growing up on Moulton Hill is really like...

New this season is a BCS Trivia Round! Our mentors get 30 seconds to correctly answer as many questions about BCS as possible. It's already sparking some heated competition, so make sure you watch to the end.

Our Mentor Monday videos have been a big hit for the last few years, sharing the insight and wisdom from some of our most cherished community mentors. Check out our social platforms on the first Monday of every month to get to know the many people who keep our school running!
